My laptop is full of designs for the spaces I have designed in the past, languishing in folders that I rarely return to after the project has finished. Having talked a little about the thinking behind this particular project I thought it could be of interest to see a little of the process.
The design process goes rather like this: inspiration, ideas, sketching, development, suggestions, compromise, amendment, refinement.
For all projects I keep a Pinterest board, usually these are private while the project is active but I tend to make them publicly available once I’ve finished with them. For this project, Riverbank, you’ll find the board I collected at length here plus its sister project Spinks Nest here
As I use predominantly reclaimed materials and vintage furnishings I find standard design software doesn’t work well for my needs. I’ve developed my own approach to creating designs using Keynote (the Apple equivalent of Publisher I believe) making my style distinctively my own.
If you’re interested in seeing more on this project then you could follow my client on Instagram @spinks.nest or even book to stay there
If you’d like some Ridge & Furrow involvement in your own home you can book an online consultation from as little as £50 or drop me a line via our website
